About the Artist:

Utah artist Heather Olsen studied classical realism at the Bridge Academy of Art and the Hein Academy of Art for three years before completing her bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Utah in 2015. Since then, Heather has exhibited consistently nationwide in both private and public collections. She has won several art awards including Art Battle Champion in 2020 and 2022, Best of Show in the 2020 online exhibition "Created in Isolation," and the Grand Prize Artist Award in 2018. She has also had several notable commissions such as the commissioned painting "Together We Can Do This" for Intermountain Healthcare where many copies of the painting hang in medical facilities worldwide, and commissioned portraits for several of Utah's governors and other local legislative officials. While she enjoys painting a variety of subjects, her passion is painting animals and people where personality and emotion are so wonderfully depicted. As a lifelong animal lover and advocate, Heather focuses on portraying the beautiful soul animals, commanding the same integrity and respect as her figurative work.
