Summer Storm at Sunset. This painting was done from memory and imagination after a walk I took at sunset one stormy evening. The whole sky and landscape was a moody hazy yellow because of the final rays of light stretching through the rainy atmosphere.
About the Artist: Returning to my familiar home of Utah after five years in Poland, Chicago, and Brazil I am continually inspired by the beauty and variety of landscapes of the Wasatch Mountains. From 2011 to 2015 I studied under Ryan Brown at the Masters Academy of Art in Springville, Utah. There I learned the classical principles of art through master copies and studies of plaster casts and the human body. Working primarily in oil paint today, I aim to stretch myself creatively, connecting memory, imagination, knowledge, and tradition. I am learning to work around the time and energy limits of raising two little boys, who also give me loads of inspiration and lead me in finding the natural beauty around our home.
